HI responses induced by seasonal influenza vaccination are associated with clinical protection and with seroprotection against non-homologous strains
Highlights ► We examine homologous and cross-specific HI responses after influenza vaccination in 2006/2007. ► Homologous HI titers before and after vaccination correlate with laboratory confirmed influenza. ► Vaccination will induce cross-specific HI titers ≥40 against H1N1pdm09 and drifted seasona...

Zusammenfassung: | Highlights ► We examine homologous and cross-specific HI responses after influenza vaccination in 2006/2007. ► Homologous HI titers before and after vaccination correlate with laboratory confirmed influenza. ► Vaccination will induce cross-specific HI titers ≥40 against H1N1pdm09 and drifted seasonal H1N1. ► We find no indications that original antigenic sin may affect cross-specific HI titers. ► Between 20 and 60 years, cross-specific HI titers ≥40 against H1N1pdm09 are inversely correlated with age. |
