Presenting figures and graphics

Whereas APA 5 presents five different examples of variations of graphs (line graphs, bar graphs, scatter plots), APA 6 only provides one example graph, on p. 156. [...]when constructing different types of graphs, following the general format of APA 5 should suffice; however, it is best to consult the journal's editorial staff to ensure that your graphs fit their required style. Use title case for all column headers and remember to capitalize all words with four letters or more, in addition to names, verbs, and modifiiers Never use PowerPoint to create a figure, because the fonts used in that software will not embed properly in the composed book or journal; Illustrator and Photoshop are better suited to the creation of graphics.
