Zusammenfassung: | A series of experiments help determine the effect of different yarn and knitting parameters on fly formation during the knitting of staple yarns. The mean fiber length and the level of yarn twist are principal factors in reducing the tendency of staple yarns to shed fly. Other important factors are yam linear density, yarn moisture content, and package conicity. A high percentage of cotton in a cotton / polyester blend, high input tension, high knitting speed, and increased tightness factor all significantly in crease the amount of fly generated. |
