Zusammenfassung: | The computer simulations used in this paper were car ried out using the CTSS system of Project MAC at MIT. The study stems from the author's interest in developing a cybernetic model of the Indian social system. See, for example, his "A cybernetic model of total Indian so ciety," Center for International Studies, MIT (no. C/ 67-23), October, 1967. The present study deals with a hypothetical underdeveloped country and situation. The focus is on developing a general framework linking a protracted military conflict with its politico-economic concomitants.
The modeling philosophy adopted for the simulations described in this paper is based on feedback systems theory. The approach used, known as Industrial Dynam ics, was developed at MIT under the leadership of Jay Forrester. |
