Zusammenfassung: | Primitive methods are still sometimes employed in solving engineering problems because of the perceived investment in time required to obtain a more precise solution. Computer modeling with modern simulation languages offers a fast and flexible solution methodology. Modeling of dynamic pressures and gas flow in a single phasegas reservoir illustrates how easily simulation languages can be applied to a problem which is still commonly addressed with graphical methods today. The sample problem is solved with the same simulation language on a variety of machines, widely different in processor speed and memory capacity, demonstrating the portability of the solution code and the flexrbility and generality of the approach to the solution. |
