Zusammenfassung:Hydatid disease is endemic to various regions of the world, with an incidence of 0.4 per 100,000 persons. Isolated cardiac involvement is rare and occurs in only 0.02%–2% of cases. As the majority of cases are asymptomatic, can present catastrophically, and lead to high mortality, it has become increasingly important to identify the disease in an early stage and treat it with surgical excision. This review aims to familiarize the readers with the varied presentations, early diagnosis, and management of cardiac hydatid disease.
