Zusammenfassung:Marine shells, known as sessils, live fixed on present day harbour quays. The upper limit of this belt (vermetids, balanus) delineates biological sea level. This type of fixed fauna has been identified on the quays of the ancient harbour of Rome, Portus, built during the 1st and 2nd centuries AD on the coast of the Tiber delta. The ancient biological sea-level yields four strands of geoarcheological data. (1) Dated to 2115 plus or minus 30 BP (230 to 450 AD) using radiocarbon, the belt indicates the final phase of connection between the sea and the basins. (2) Its position below current biological sea-level shows an 80 plus or minus 10cm relative sea-level rise since the 3rd/4th centuries AD. (3) The altimetric difference between the ancient sea-level and the stratigraphic data of the cores provides information on the palaeo-depth, which was -7m at the entrance of the hexagonal basin of Trajan. (4) The presence or absence of fixed fauna indicates the existence or not of a contact between the moles and the sea. It also gives information on the configuration of Portus, which remains poorly understood.Original Abstract: Certains organismes marins vivent fixes sur les quais des ports actuels. La limite superieure des peuplements mediolittoraux definit le niveau marin biologique. De telles faunes fixees viennent d'etre decouvertes sur les quais du port antique de Rome, le Portus, construit au Ier et IIe s. ap. J.-C. sur le littoral du delta du Tibre. Ce niveau marin biologique antique apporte quatre informations geoarcheologiques fondamentales. (1) Sa datation au radiocarbone, 2115 plus or minus 30 BP soit 230 a 450 ap. J.-C., indique la phase ultime de connexion entre la mer et les bassins portuaires. (2) Sa position 80cm sous le zero biologique actuel indique, avec precision, une hausse relative de 80 plus or minus 10cm du niveau marin depuis le IIIe / Ve s. ap. J.-C. (3) La difference altimetrique entre cet ancien niveau marin et les donnees stratigraphiques des carottages apporte des informations sur les paleoprofondeurs. Ainsi, a l'entree du bassin hexagonal de Trajan, la profondeur etait de 7m. (4) La presence ou l'absence de faunes fixees signifie un contact ou non des moles avec la mer et renseigne sur la configuration, encore mal connue, de Portus.
