Zusammenfassung: | This paper aims to analyze the transactional relationships between small producers of fruits of the Petrolina-Juazeiro center and the agents located just ahead in the distribution channel, identifying the main factors that determine the existing relations, based on the Theory of Economic Costs Transactions (ECT). For this, it makes use of an ordinal logistic regression model and data from field research. As a result, in general, there is in the center a positive relationship between most variables tested and associated with the theoretical framework of ECT and the probability of the small producer of fruit of the center to vary the intensity of vertical coordination along with its downstream link. Thus, those producers who have a greater degree of specificity and attributes, among those considered by ECT, have also a greater relative ability to transact their fruit by governance structures more intensified.
