Zusammenfassung:The stainless steels are widely used by industries for presenting reduced costs combined with a good resistance to corrosion, due to the formation of Cr2O3 passive layer. The aim of this work is to study the electrochemical and mechanical properties of ferritic stainless steel, using as parameter the austenitic stainless steel AISI 316 for its high corrosion resistance. Therefore, metallographic analyses for the AISI 409 and AISI 316 steels were carried out. Microhardness and polarization electrochemical tests were also realized for the analyses of corrosion resistance in some environment.
