Zusammenfassung: | Water in the new pelletizing plant water treatment system has the flowing flowsheet: thickeners, water treatment system (WTS) and tanks for water recirculation. Reagents are added in the thickeners and WTS to promote aggregates formation and accelerate their settling. Additionally, CO(2) in added in the thickener overflow. Laboratory studies determined how to minimize froth formation. Anti frothers addition, in spite of their effectiveness, was not adopted, since pH control guarantied reduction in the amount of froth, even in high amine concentrations. So a multivariable predictive control strategy was implemented. The control acts prematurely in the CO(2) dosage to decrease pH value until set point and change CO(2) dosage as function of WTS flow feeding. The control also answers to the natural process variation. Decrease in pH variability of 50% and in froth formation were observed after control implementation. |
