Zusammenfassung: | Climate change and climate policy are currently the main issue for Greenpeace, states Michael Hopf, head of the press office of Greenpeace Germany, in an interview with Mike S. Schafer. The focus is chiefly on the causes of climate change in the areas of energy, transport and destruction of primeval forests, but Greenpeace is also actively raising its voice in international and national climate policy. The aim is to inform and explain, but also to influence energy and climate policy decision makers. Media is an important channel, and the social web -- in addition to mass media -- has become an important factor, as it allows the achievement of what has become the main task: as most people have by now realised that climate change is a reality, the call is to action.
