The Folk Sports in Chinese Local Chronicles -Taking Nangong County as an Example

By using the methods of literature review and so on, this paper combed folk sports activities of the chronicles from the beginning of Ming dynasty and Nangong county. It holds that the festival celebration is the notochord for the folk sport's heritage. The survival defense makes martial arts become the core content of the folk sports. Religious ritual unceasingly promotes the development of folk sports. The local chronicle sports is an important support to the folk culture and the authors suggest further exploration.
