Zusammenfassung: | The objective of this paper is to describe the behavior of Uruguayan companies and the opinion that Uruguayan citizens have about corporate social responsibility (CSR). For this purpose, data was collected form surveys answered by citizens over CSR. This paper presents a comparative descriptive analysis on the main results obtained by these surveys with the goal of contributing to a topic that has little academic research background in Uruguay. The data analysis shows a certain degree of acknowledgement by the citizens over this specific topic (CSR). The analysis also shows that citizens have a better perception of companies than companies themselves. In addition, there is an existent balance between the actions taken by the company in regards to CSR and the public opinion in those areas that are considered important.
