Zusammenfassung:This paper contributes to the literature on the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) by determining the effect of water abundance on an EKC for water pollution. Results indicate that water abundance greatly affects the turning point of an EKC. ► The effect of water abundance on an EKC for water pollution is examined. ► Turning points between water scarce and water abundant countries are compared. ► Water scarce countries have lower turning points than water abundant countries.
