Zusammenfassung: | Leon and Rodriguez feature a patient with symptoms consistent with a wide variety of medical conditions, mostly gastrointestinal, ranging from asymptomatic nodules to oncologic diseases. A blood sign revealed in the patient's workup delayed the final diagnosis of his condition, which usually occurs in the absence of this blood sign. The patient's presentation initially raised suspicion of an intra-abdominal neoplastic process, and the CT findings suggested a neuroendocrine pancreatic tumor. Nonetheless, the absence of symptoms of hormonal overproduction argued against a diagnosis of functioning islet cell tumors, although it was initially considered. |
