Zusammenfassung:Robin Hood games and plays were a traditional form of parish fund-raising and entertainment in some regions, dating back to the 15th century; and evidence of Robin Hood activity is found in a number of parts of early modern England. In 1615 George Pearson was presented to court "for playing the sheriff at a rush bearing upon St Lawrence day last being Sunday," and George Sherwin was cited "for playing Robing Hood at the said rush bearing upon the said sabbath day."
