Zusammenfassung:The decision of the UK government to shift from two-member constituencies to single-member divisions have several implications on the performance of political parties. Single-member seats render support to local minorities during elections and deters the occurence of winner-take-all, which occurs with multi-member constituencies. Aside from efficiently representing the minority, single-member constituencies secures proportionality and the proper distribution of votes.
