African Christians in a Secularizing Europe

African immigrants are contributing to the shape of Christianity in Europe by establishing independent church groups. This paper examines some of the historical and sociological factors behind the growth of such African Churches in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands and other European countries. It is suggested that the African immigrant communities from which African churches are growing in postcolonial Europe contribute to the continued presence of Christianity in the global village.
