CATO'S SUICIDE IN PLUTARCH

The suicide of Roman politician Cato the Younger was seen by his contemporaries as an exemplar of Stoic virtue. However, Zadorojnyi asserts that Plutarch's description of the suicide in his biography of Cato gives a subtle Socratic critique of Stoicism.
