A PREVIOUSLY UNLISTED MANUSCRIPT OF THE LATIN "BRUT" CHRONICLE WITH SHERBORNE CONTINUATION

Luxford discusses the three aims for the previously unlisted manuscript of the Latin Brut Chronicle. First, it seeks to advertise the existence and establish the provenance of the manuscript. Secondly, a brief review of the contents of manuscript T, and by extension, manuscript H, and an indication of the sources used in their compilation will be provided as a contribution to the classification of the Latin manuscripts. Thirdly, a brief discussion of the relationship between T and H, an issue that naturally arises given their similarity, will be included, both for its bibliographical interest and for what it reveals about ownership of the Latin Brut in a medium-sized Benedictine house during the later fifteenth century.
