Transport Museums: Another Kind of Historiography

Few transport historians fully understand the many purposes of museums and the ways in which they communicate with their visitors. Transport museums are not appropriate places in which to raise the finer points of academic debate, but promote development of a dialogue between expert and lay knowledge of transport's past.
