Zusammenfassung:Young's modulus for Li12Si7 was determined from nanoindentation testing. Young's modulus for Li12Si7 was 52.0±8.2GPa. This value is in excellent agreement with estimated values of Young's modulus calculated from predicted values of bulk modulus using density functional theory. ► Polycrystalline Li12Si7 was synthesized. ► Nanoindentation testing was used to measure Young's modulus for Li12Si7. Young's modulus was 52.0±8.2GPa. ► The experimental values of Young's moduli for Li12Si7 and Li22Si5 are in excellent agreement with estimated values estimated from predicted values of bulk modulus based on density functional theory.
