Zusammenfassung: | The recent 10-minute consultation on epistaxis offered some sound advice. 1 The suggestion of prescribing 0.1% chlorhexidine/0.5% neomycin cream is a well accepted practice within the ear, nose, and throat community. A study in children with recurrent epistaxis found antiseptic cream to be a suitable treatment, 2 whereas a Cochrane review concluded that the optimal management is unknown. 3 Doctors should ask all patients if they have a peanut allergy before prescribing this cream because it contains peanut oil (arachis oil). |
