Zusammenfassung:Long chain 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), are essential diet components of animals and humans. Aquatic ecosystems are the primary source of essential fatty acids for the entire biosphere, including terrestrial animals. One of the key environmental factors determining the synthesis of PUFAs by microalgae and their accumulation by zooplankton is water temperature. Gladyshev et al performed a comparative study of the content of PUFAs in zooplankton of lakes located in different climatic zones.
