Zusammenfassung: | Solubility and metastable zone width were found out for Nitric acid added Triglycine Sulphate (TGSN) and chloroacetamide (AC) doped TGSN solutions by poly-thermal method. Pure TGSN, 0.1
mol% and 0.3
mol% AC doped TGSN crystals were grown from their respective aqueous solutions by slow evaporation method. X-ray powder diffraction patterns were collected for TGSN and AC doped TGSN crystals to determine their lattice parameter values. Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) spectroscopic analysis was carried out to confirm the molecular vibrations of TGSN and the presence of chloroacetamide in TGSN qualitatively. From the UV–vis spectroscopic analysis, the range and percentage of the transmission were observed for the grown crystals. From the microhardness test, Vickers's hardness of the AC doped TGSN crystals on (001) face was found to be higher than that of pure TGSN crystals. The dielectric loss as a function of frequency was found out for the grown crystals. Thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) revealed the variation in weight loss of the samples during heating.
► The metastable zone width increased with the addition of 0.3
mol% of chloroacedamide (AC) in the TGSN solutions. ► AC enhanced the growth rate along the
b-axis as compared to TGSN crystals. ► AC doped TGSN crystals were harder than pure TGSN crystals. ► AC effected on the dielectric constant and dielectric loss of TGSN crystals. |
