Zusammenfassung: | Despite the advances of new constitutions, and some legal reforms, the focus of gender continues to be absent in labor legislation. Women remain disadvantaged in all labor indices and face open and hidden discrimination, such as the so-called in their ascent through the labor hierarchy. A paradigmatic case is domestic work in private homes, in which legal deficits add to the problems in fulfilling approved regulations. How far have advances been made? What are the matters pending? The Uruguayan case sheds new light on the facet of female work which concentrates a plurality of discrimination. Adapted from the source document. |
