Las ganancias de los trabajadores inmigrantes en España/Foreign workers' earning in Spain

This paper provides empirical evidence regarding foreign workers' wages in Spain and the extent to which they are discriminated against. We use data from the Muestra Continua de Vidas Laborales (MCVL), which allows the analysis of different subgroups of the foreign population, such as according to their nationality or the Spanish region in which they work. As for the methodology used, we first estimate earnings equations for native and foreign workers using Tobit models. Later, we adapt Jenkin's (1994) proposal for the distributional analysis of discrimination in order to analyse wage differentials between Spanish and migrant workers. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
