Zusammenfassung:[...]since the students in this research are preparatory learners who are learning English for academic purposes, it is definite that they will have to read a lot of long articles or books in their departments. [...]it was found that while there was not a significant difference in the listening task between the two groups, in the speaking task, the experimental group which was specifically trained on how to present a two-minute talk outperformed the control group. [...]both in their journals and in the interviews as well, they emphasized strongly that they would have liked to be trained on reading strategies starting at the very early levels of their language education. [...]having taken the limitations of the study into consideration as well, it can be said that the students in the experimental group benefited from the training.
