NARRATIVE SENTENCES
Prose cannot describe without beginning to narrate. Unlike events, which succeed one another when we read (and only when we read, for the reader is the mover), features, properties, conditions stay awhile to be named one at a time as though the roundfaced and footed alarm clock were its ticks.
