Zusammenfassung: | Lois Potter's review of Ivan Rajmont's production of The Two Noble Kinsmen at the Estates Theatre in Prague considers the difficulties, for both director and reviewer, when a play - the first Czech production of the first Czech translation -- has few of the obvious contexts (previous performances, critical tradition, knowledge of social context). Her description focuses on its disparities of style and tone, particularly its unexpectedly comic moments, and on the deliberately inconsistent time frames within which the story is played out. |
