Introduction

The innovative exhibitions and programs of "The Indiana Experience" are vivid reminders that the word "museum" no longer necessarily suggests a collection of authenticated pieces of the True Cross, that in fact that definition has been under revision for quite some time, certainly in science museums and children's museums, but also increasingly in historical museums and historic sites.
