Zusammenfassung: | Lambert et al examine Mississippi's policies on fruit and vegetable offerings within the National School Lunch Program over a two year period. Although compliance overall has been positive, a decrease in the number of fresh fruit or vegetable served daily from 2008 to 2009 raises concern. Qualitative interview data identified higher costs and delivery issues as barriers. The majority of school managers reported no barriers. Data also revealed fresh fruits were offered more often than vegetables. |
