Zusammenfassung: | An abstract of a study by Barnes et al on recognizing the new fiber values for raisins utilizing the Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC) analytical method 2009.01 and on understanding the implications for a fiber health claim is presented. Accordingly, dietary fiber has been shown to increase stool bulk, reduce blood cholesterol, and improve glucose tolerance. More recently, the prebiotic benefits of fiber have been studied and inulin has been the focus of attention. |
