Zusammenfassung:Berg discusses the Teaching Better Mathematics project which focuses on researching teaching development and adopting an inquiry approach to teaching. The results presented in the report offer insights into the systemic constraints and the impact on teachers' teaching practice of participating in a developmental research project. Thereby it is possible to gain knowledge about the teachers' world and to develop a deeper understanding of the challenges and demands teachers meet when engaging in programs related to professional development.
