Zusammenfassung: | URL: http://www.itma.ie/index.html The first two sites, both hosted by the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS), seek to provide access to much of the raw material on which the academic study of English language "folk music" and the associated "folk revival" that accompanied it was founded. The second site, which can also be accessed from EFDSS's home page, provides a context for Sharp's Appalachian collections, by presenting scanned pages from the handwritten diaries of his various fieldwork expeditions from 1915 to 1918. Despite its declared "inclusive" policy, ITMA contains little concerning the Ulster marching-band tradition, which in terms of numbers participating and frequency of performance, is the most vibrant context in which "traditional" tunes are currently played on the island of Ireland. |
