Audubon Landscapes in the South

Audubon's paintings, reproduced in various forms such as coffee table books, posters, post cards, calendars, and other, higher quality, reproductions remain, more than one hundred and fifty years after his death, popular among a wide-ranging audience of serious art collectors, casual bird watchers, and outdoor enthusiasts. According to geographer Carl Sauer, "The phenomena that make up an area are not simply assorted but are associated, or independent" (22).
