Profile: The Political Theory of Carole Pateman

Carole Pateman is, by any measure, an extraordinary political thinker. She has written modern classics of both democratic and feminist theory, but the scope of her work is even wider than this dual accomplishment suggests, since it includes contributions to the study of early modern political thought, early feminist thought, and, recently, the history of colonialism.
