Zusammenfassung: | An abstract of a study by Foss et al evaluating the effects of the levels of intervention compared with control on activity energy expenditure (AEE) and physical activity patterns is presented. Physical activity (PA) is a major predictor of weight loss maintenance. The Rural Lifestyle Intervention Treatment Effectiveness Trial (Rural LITE) is a single-blind, multi-site, randomized controlled trial testing the effects of three levels of a lifestyle intervention program on long-term weight management for rural-dwelling adults. Results suggests that many rural-dwelling adults may not be meeting PA recommendations, which supports this intervention in this population. |
