This article analyzes the relation of the local Sevillian press in the year 1929 with the cinematographic exhibition. The celebration of the Latin-American Sevillian Exhibition, as a massive event with a divulgative and propagandistic intention where the cinematograph will be used for the first time, and the transit to the talking movies will determine a notable presence of the cinema in the society and the Sevillian culture of this moment. The press is used as a way to transmit information and to create a demand of consumption by the businessmen of a cultural industry, the cinema, fullly consolidated in spite of its youth. We will attend to the information offered in the journal El Liberal of Seville during the year of the celebration of the Latin-American Exhibition in order to determine the relevancy of the cinematographic exhibition in the cultural development of the city.
