Zusammenfassung: | Many consultants in the psychological and psychiatric specialties become involved in testifying in court as an expert witness. The role of expert witness can produce anxiety for both the neophyte and the experienced professional. Moreover, little formal training regarding such things as legalities has typically been a part of one's professional training. In an effort, albeit small, to further facilitate the consultant's role in testifying as an expert witness, this two-part series of articles has been collated. Part 1 is presented in the current issue, and Part 2 will be presented in the next issue of the Consulting Psychology Journal.
