Zusammenfassung: | Presents an obituary for Edward H. Kemp, who died from multiple myeloma on October 29, 1989. Kemp served as chief of the Human Factors Division of the Navy Electronics Laboratory. He created a conducive environment for a staff of psychologists, physicists, and engineers to conduct basic research, while providing human factors expertise for pressing Navy problems with new sonar and radar and communications. He established a bioelectronics laboratory for studying state variables of motivation, attention, and fatigue.
