Zusammenfassung:Discusses child-study and educational literature in Portuguese, Spanish and Italian. A notable educational contribution in Portuguese is Bernardino Machado's A Universidade de Coimbra dedicated to 'the academic youth' of Portugal. The volume contains academic discourses, graduation and other addresses to the student body, etc., and abstracts of six lectures on pedagogy delivered in the University of Coimbra in January-March, 1900. Another interesting Portuguese work is F. Adolpho Coelho's extensive monograph, Exercicios corporaes e desenvolviment physico (Bodily Exercises and Moral Development). The first part, which is historical and critical, will treat of doctrines and facts. The second, theoretical part, will consider the relations between health of body and health of mind, movement and will, the moral will, conclusions. In Spanish, the article of Professor P. Dorado, of the University of Salamanca, on Educacón coreccional consists of two chapters which treats of the new methods of dealing with youthful delinquents - the educational, protective and correctional (not retributive or punitory) idea has replaced the older criminal legal processes. At the reorganized University of Havana in Cuba is published the Revista de la Faculdad de Letras y Ciencias (Vols. I-II, 1905-1906), three numbers yearly. The newly-established ^iArchives de Pedagogiay Ciencias afines of which the first number is dated June, 1906, is the organ of the Pedagogical Section of the Faculty of Juridical and Social Sciences of the National University of La Plata, in the Argentine Republic. The newly-established Rivista di Psicologia applicata alla Pedagogia ed alla Psicopatologia published in Bologna by Professor G. C. Ferrari, the head of the Emilian Medico-Pedagogical Institute (Bertaglia), and now in its second year, contains many articles of interest in Italian. U. Loreta's Contributo allo studio del senso estetico nei fanciullo (Vol. II., 316-250, with colored plate) records observations on the author's 7-year old boy. The article of Giuseppina Fumagalli, of Brescia, on II senso della vita nell'educazione dell'infanzia (Vol. I., pp. 277-284) emphasizes the importance of 'the sense of life' in the history of the race and in the development of the individual.
