Zusammenfassung:Describes the clinical application of attachment theory to a 30-yr-old woman with a detached personality. Attachment theory conceives of a detached personality as marked by fear and avoidance of close relationships, resulting from separation of threat of separation from attachment figures. In this view, psychotherapy offers a special attachment relationship within which the person may explore attachment and separation experiences, beginning in childhood. (19 ref)
