Zusammenfassung: | Attempted to measure differences in originality responses for a group of academically talented, male university freshmen who were exposed to counseling with and without operant conditioning. 3 groups of 10 students were exposed to 6 50-min counseling sessions with experienced counselors. 1 group was treated with the Maltzman operant training technique designed to increase their originality responses. The other 2 groups were counseled in a less structured manner. Results reported a significant difference at the .05 level between the higher scores of the operant group and the other 2 groups on 2 scales of originality, but failed to differentiate between the groups on 4 other measures of originality, a finding different from those of most studies.
