Zusammenfassung:Comments on the article by M. E. Dunn (see record 1980-01793-001) on psychological intervention in a spinal cord injury center. The author notes that Dunn's experience in a Veteran's Administration Hospital refers mostly to males. Dunn's vigorous writing style allows the learning model approach to assimilating spinal cord injury to take on at times a heavy-handed posture by the treatment team toward the patient. There is also an attribution to patients of more mental toughness and resiliency than might actually be the case for a large number recently disabled patients.
