Zusammenfassung:Assessed the generalizability of leader behavior effects found in research with European and US samples. Leader behavior ratings by subordinates, leader performance, and subordinate satisfaction measures were taken for 142 Iranian managers. Ss were administered the Leader Behavior Description Questionnaire and the Job Descriptive Index. Results indicate that perceived leader behavior was strongly related both to group performance and subordinate satisfaction. However, the factor structure of the behavior ratings was different from that found with Euro-American samples. Cross-cultural differences and current research on leader behavior are discussed.
