Zusammenfassung:The death of a child is an extremely stressful event in the life of a family. Based on clinical experience and observations of bereft families, a manualized preventive intervention program was formulated and empirically tested. The clinical foundation of the intervention is reviewed, the nature of the program is briefly described, and implications for the development of new preventive intervention programs is discussed.
