Zusammenfassung:J. N. Butcher et al raised concerns about the C. S. Newmark et al data on MMPI short forms. The major areas of contention include remarkably similar mean scores, exceptionally high correlation coefficients, a restricted range of difference scores, and a high percentage of identical scores. Comparison with other short form studies shows that concern with regard to 3 of the 4 issues is not justified. (20 ref)
