Zusammenfassung: | Presents methodological criticisms of J. Zimmer and E. Pepyne's (see pa, vol. 47:issue 2) study of counselor responses to clients. The use of a commercial film representing 3 eminent psychotherapists treating the same patient in separate sessions forms the major portion of the criticism in that (a) the therapists were representing their various theoretical approaches, (b) nothing was known of the patient, and (c) the sample was limited to 3 therapists. It is concluded that the findings of zimmer and pepyne that therapists differ significantly in their responses to patients cannot be supported by their methodology. |
