Zusammenfassung:Reviews the book, Approaches to Planned Change (inTwo Parts). Part 1: Orienting Perspectives and Micro-Level Interventions. Part 2: Macro-Level Interventions and Change-Agent Strategies by Robert T Golembiewski (1979). Volume 1 contains orienting chapters on the laboratory approach toward learning, choice and change, and organization development (OD). Volume 2 builds from the contrast between bureaucratic and project-structured organizations, making the balance between freedom and repression of individuals a core problem for organizations. The cases in both volumes give the reader concrete illustrations of what it means to grapple with resistant, complex clients, struggle to make accurate diagnoses, and walk the tight rope between merging into and staying aloof from the system one wants to change. In general, those who want to aid lasting change need to find ways to integrate micro-level interaction with appropriate structural supports.
